1.Q: What is software router?
Answer: A software router is a solution that uses general-purpose computing hardware such as desktop computers, industrial computers, mini PCs, or virtual machines to install dedicated routing operating systems (such as OpenWrt, Aikua, iStoreOS, etc.) to implement routing functions. It essentially implements routing functions with software rather than using manufacturers' closed firmware hard routers.
2.Q: What is the difference between software router and hardware router?
Answer: Hard routing uses fixed hardware + closed firmware, plug-and-play but with limited functions; soft routing uses general hardware + open-source system, which can freely install plug-ins to expand functions, but requires a certain technical basis to configure and debug. The core value of soft routing lies in providing complete autonomy over network control.
